In the past few weeks, we worked on optimizing resource allocation on the backend with the goal to improve system performance. The adjustments caused temporary disruptions on June 22 and June 23, causing some users to experience significant delays during login. The remediation work performed on the following weekend restored our system to full capacity by June 26. I want to apologize to all the users and stakeholders who were affected by these disruptions. We have learned a lot from this experience and will be more prepared next time when implementing system-wide changes.
In this release, we made a number of UX/UI improvements. The highlights as summarized below.
Consumer and Small Business Portal
1. Expanded Scope of Available Business Entity Types to Individual Applicants
We expanded the permissible business types for individual users signing up a "Personal Account" (not Business Account) and applying for small business loans. Previously, the scope included only Sole Proprietorship, Independent Contractor, and Single Owner LLC. With this change, all legal entity types are available.
2. Improved Signup Process
Users attempting to sign up a new account using VOIP or through VPN will be asked to provide a counselor referral to proceed with the account creation. This process helps to protect our platform from unwanted visitors without blocking regular users from signing up.
Institutional Portal
1. Updated Documentation and Documentation Settings
We updated the decline codes and incorporated excerpts of credit bureau reports to certain applicant communications.
Financial Coach and Counselor Portal
1. Improved Tracking for Counselor Connections
We implemented a tracking process to document all counselor-applicant relationship changes and triggers.
2. Implemented Upload Document Validation
We added a validation check in the document uploading process to ensure all documents uploaded are valid and can be stored.
