In this release, we improved the "Add Account" process and implemented automatic client ID removal process among other improvements.
Consumer and Small Business Portal
1. Improved "Add Account" process with automatic deletion of duplicate accounts
We noticed that users often try to add the same account multiple times using different methods. This typically happens when a user has added an account by manually inputting account and routing number and then tries to add the same account again through online banking login in an attempt to skip the micro deposits verification process that is required for the manual method. This results in conflicts on the backend and confusion to the users.
We updated our code so that a account that has been added manually and is pending micro deposits verification will be automatically removed when the user attempts to add the same account again through online banking login. Before this change, our system records on average 2-3 duplicate account errors daily. In the two weeks since its implementation, our system has recorded no duplicate account errors.
Institutional Portal
1. Option to automatically remove client identity documents from Happy Mango
Some of our clients are not permitted to keep clients' ID documents due to compliance requirements. Happy Mango does not automatically remove clients' ID files uploaded on Happy Mango so as to make it easier for your clients to apply again in the future. In this release, we implemented a "switch" that can automatically remove the uploaded client ID documents. If your organization is required to remove client ID documents from all your systems, please contact help_institution@happymangocredit.com and request automatic removal on your clients' files.
2. Display only META number of accounts to avoid confusion
Recently, certain banks, e.g. Chase, have begun masking the account numbers they send to account aggregators, such as Plaid. Happy Mango uses Plaid to gather user bank account data upon the user's approval. Plaid sends to Happy Mango both the account number it receives from the bank and the last 4 digit of the actual account number. With masking, the account number sent from the bank to Plaid and then to Happy Mango may be different from the actual account number. This has led to confusions to both consumer users and institution users. In this release, we updated our data reference so that only the last 4 digit of the actual account number will be displayed across the platform.
